I still remember my beautiful childhood. Always enjoying the outdoors, curious, adventurous, not carrying or worrying about anything. As children we do not understand how the real world works, nor do we realize how important our future is. I have had many amazing friends that have given me many memories to cherish. Although I had a special bond with two girls whom both lived across the street from me. We would go mostly every day to each others houses to play doctor. I would check their heart beat with a fake toy, pretend to draw fake blood, and even give fake medications that we made with mud. We were inseparable, and I guess you can say I have always been fond of the medical things since my childhood. Although what was it that really motivated me to become someone in that field?

I believe one of the worst things that can happen to any child is watching your parent go into the emergency room, not knowing if that will be the last time you see them alive. That is exactly what happened to me. I was lucky enough to never land in a hospital for a serious situation. Although, my father, whom I am very close with and love with all my heart, has suffered and is still suffering Health wise. My father has not had it easy for the past four years. There was a time in my life I felt my whole world was falling apart before my eyes. My father means the world to me, therefore I could not bare the thought of losing him.

I was about twelve years of age when I was awoken in the middle of the night to the sound of my frightened mother. All I can remember are flashes. The terrifying screams of my father, and the sweat dripping from his forehead caused by the pain. We rushed him to the hospital, and all I could do was cry and watch them take him away. Of course being in a hospital, and given the right medications calmed both him and his pain. My mother and I were so happy to know he was ok and going to be better. Therefore, ever since that happened my mother and I have been taking good care of him. The pain he has felt for years comes from his stomach; and in those years up till this very day, my mother and I have taken him to doctors, specialist, allergist, ect; but nothing seems to help, nor has anyone found a solution to his problems. I have seen not only how much my father has suffered, but also how a lot of others have, and are still suffering Health wise.

That is the key reason why I have gotten motivated to be someone in the medical field. I want to actually do something with my life, not because I have to but because I want to. I want to give the opportunity to make a difference in someone else’s life as well. I graduated two years early from high school, and for my age I have decided if I go into the medical field now, I can easily further my education at such a young age. I personally do not see myself sitting behind a desk, although nothing is wrong with that. I have the desire to interact with people face to face, help them in there situacion, put a smile on their face, and make them feel well attended and cared for. I say this for the reason that if I was in their shoes, I would strongly feel the same way, therefore my goal is to accomplish that.
I love that the medical field focuses to help others become the people they want to be, yet at the same time, helps me improve myself in the same way. The medical field is a strong ongoing career, and my wish is to be a part of it. Just the thought of knowing I can make an impact in someone’s life pushes me day to day for a medical career. I have developed a love for the medical field like no other, and by going to the school of PIMA MEDICAL INSTITUTE I would the first in my family to successfully complete an educational program that helps me build a future, and open the doors to many grand opportunities. I look forward to improving myself by being part of the medical field, but most importantly, improving in the lives of others.
